Warminster Amateur Radio Club (K3DN): nets, meetings, and the hamfest

The Warminster Amateur Radio Club (WARC), club call K3DN, has been around since 1964 and has been an ARRL Special Service Club since 1984 — over 135 members at last count, with a long track record of providing communications support for public service events in addition to the usual club activities.

Getting on the repeater

WARC’s repeater is 147.090 MHz, positive offset, PL tone 131.8 Hz. Two standing nets run on it and on 10 meters:

  • 2m club net — Wednesdays at 8:00 PM on the 147.090+ repeater
  • 10m net — Sundays at 8:00 PM on 28.445 MHz USB

Meetings

General membership meetings are the first Thursday of every month, 7:30–9:30 PM, at the Ben Wilson Senior Center, 580 Delmont Ave, Warminster, PA. Visitors don’t need to be members to attend, and talk-in is available on the club repeater. The club also runs Volunteer Examiner sessions for anyone testing for a new license or an upgrade, and station time is open to interested visitors on meeting nights.

The annual hamfest

WARC also hosts an annual hamfest and ARRL Eastern Pennsylvania Section Convention, which draws operators from well outside Bucks County. It’s a good entry point if you’re newer to the area and want to meet people face to face before committing to a club.

Full contact info and the current meeting calendar are kept up to date at k3dn.org.
